Meet the Doctors
MEET Dr. Pooya Hoseinzadeh
Family & Cosmetic Dentist | West Cobb Dental Studio – Powder Springs, GA
Dr. Pooya Hoseinzadeh was born in Marietta, Georgia, and raised in the heart of East Cobb. From a young age, he was drawn to science and helping others—two passions that eventually led him to a fulfilling career in general and cosmetic dentistry. After graduating from Walton High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Georgia (“GO DAWGS”) and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta.
He likes to joke that he’s lived in the “three big A’s” of the state—Atlanta, Athens, and Augusta—and still proudly calls Georgia home.
Patients often notice Dr. Pooya’s calm, friendly energy and his genuine interest in getting to know people beyond just their teeth. He believes dentistry is more than clinical care—it’s about building trust, easing fears, and helping people feel confident when they smile. Whether it’s a routine cleaning, restoring damaged teeth, or crafting a custom smile makeover, Dr. Pooya brings precision and compassion to every treatment.
As one of the Dentists at West Cobb Dental Studio, in Powder Springs, GA, he enjoys serving individuals and families from across Cobb County, including Austell, Mableton, and Marietta. He works with patients of all ages and takes pride in creating a comfortable, judgment-free environment for children, adults, and seniors alike.
Dr. Pooya is passionate about community outreach, preventive care, and patient education. He enjoys helping people understand their treatment options—whether it’s teeth whitening, veneers, crowns, or dental implants—and believes that informed patients are empowered patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Pooya has a wide range of interests. He’s a passionate soccer fan—both as a player and a spectator—and rarely misses a big international match. He also loves cooking traditional Persian meals, even if he openly admits that cleaning up afterward is his least favorite part. In his downtime, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, collecting Persian antiques, and exploring cultural history.
He’s fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi, which allows him to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds and ensure everyone feels right at home.
Above all, Dr. Pooya brings a thoughtful, approachable, and skilled touch to every patient interaction—and he’s honored to be part of the journey that helps people smile with comfort and confidence.
MEET Dr. Thomas R. Dix
Family & Cosmetic Dentist | West Cobb Dental Studio – Powder Springs, GA
Dr. Thomas Dix was born in 1946 in Phoenix, Arizona, and has been practicing dentistry for over 50 years. With a calm, reassuring presence and a wealth of hands-on experience, he has helped thousands of patients overcome dental anxiety and regain confidence in their smiles. His signature slogan—“We cater to cowards”—is more than just a tagline; it’s a philosophy grounded in compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Dix has spent most of his career serving the communities of Cobb County, including Mableton, Austell, and now Powder Springs, GA. He is widely respected for his expertise in removable dentistry, especially dentures and partial dentures, and has been a trusted provider for generations of families. He began his early dental career focusing on prosthetics and later established a private practice, where he built a loyal patient base through honest communication, gentle techniques, and reliable results.
Today, Dr. Dix continues to practice alongside Dr. Pooya Hoseinzadeh at West Cobb Dental Studio, where his experience and mentorship remain invaluable. Patients appreciate his blend of old-school dedication and modern understanding of evolving dental care.
Outside the dental chair, Dr. Dix is a world explorer—especially beneath the surface. A dedicated cave diver, he travels regularly to Mexico to explore ancient underwater caverns and cenotes. The same traits that define his diving—focus, precision, and respect for detail—also define his approach to dentistry.
When he’s not diving, you’ll find Dr. Dix enjoying time outdoors, biking through scenic trails, working on his landscaping, or stargazing under clear Georgia skies. He’s also a fan of flavorful food (Mexican and Cajun cuisine are his favorites), and nothing means more to him than quality time with family.
Whether treating long-time patients or mentoring new dentists, Dr. Dix brings depth, wisdom, and humor to everything he does. And if you hear him say, “I can’t walk a straight line,” just know it’s part of the charm of someone who’s spent a lifetime helping others find balance—one smile at a time.
