Frequently Asked Questions

General Oral Health

Every 6 months is recommended for most patients to prevent issues and catch problems early. Some may need more frequent visits depending on their oral health.

Brush twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush at a 45° angle for two minutes, and floss once daily to clean between teeth and below the gumline.

Use a soft-bristled manual or electric toothbrush and a fluoride toothpaste. If you have sensitivity or gum issues, ask us for a personalized recommendation.

This can be a sign of gum inflammation or early gum disease (gingivitis). It may improve with better flossing habits—but if it persists, schedule a checkup.

Bad breath is usually caused by bacteria in the mouth, dry mouth, or certain foods. Brushing, flossing, tongue cleaning, and staying hydrated help. Persistent cases may require professional evaluation.

Preventive Care

Yes—X-rays help detect issues we can’t see with the naked eye. We use digital X-rays with very low radiation levels and only take them when necessary.

Brush and floss daily, eat a low-sugar diet, get regular cleanings, and consider fluoride treatments or sealants if recommended.

Fluoride strengthens enamel and helps prevent decay. It’s found in many toothpastes, drinking water, and professional treatments.

A regular cleaning removes plaque and tartar above the gumline. A deep cleaning (scaling & root planing) treats gum disease by cleaning below the gumline.

Pain & Sensitivity

It could be due to worn enamel, gum recession, cavities, or cracked teeth. Desensitizing toothpaste helps, but let us evaluate it if the sensitivity continues.

Call us right away. A toothache may signal infection, decay, or other issues that need prompt attention.

When done correctly—especially under professional supervision—whitening is safe and won’t damage enamel.
